Geraldine Huffman Rhodes, 90, of Brighton, TN, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Maurice Rhodes. She was born on January 6, 1926 in Brighton, TN to the late William Vernon Huffman, Sr. and Thelma Marshall Huffman. She was a cosmetologist at Clinton's Beauty Salon in Memphis and she served as cafeteria manager at Covington High School. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, catering, and spending time with family and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Brighton Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Margaret Sherrill Circle, and a member of the Alpha Book Club. She is survived by one son, Robert Maurice Rhodes, Jr.; one daughter, Gwinn Rhodes Stitt and son-in-law, Sam; one brother, Jack Huffman and one sister, June Huffman Trotter. Grandchildren include Mitchell Stitt (Tiffany), Morgan Stitt Davanzo (Chris), Coleman Stitt and Bennett Stitt as well as five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a large family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who hold her dear. She was preceded in death by sisters, Norman Huffman Spencer, Wilma Huffman Mills, Jean Huffman Strong, Peggy Ann Huffman and brothers, William Vernon "Bud" Huffman, Jr., Marshall Coleman Huffman and Charles Swayne Huffman. Visitation will be at the Brighton ARP Church in Brighton from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, May 23 with a service at 4 p.m. at the church with interment in Indian Creek Cemetery.
