CHARLESTON -- Laverne Bone, 86, died at 10:50 a.m. March 13, 2004, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 16, 1918, in Atoka, Tenn., daughter of the late Luther and Maggie Black Glass, she had lived in Charleston most of her life where she attended the First Assembly of God Church and worked in the Charleston R-1 School District as a cook until her retirement in 1986.
On Dec. 30, 1933, she married Isaac "Ike" Bone who preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1986.
One son, Shirley Eugene Bone; one daughter, Geraldine Mingle; one grandson, Greg Jines; three brothers, Leonard Glass, Sam Glass and Linus Glass; and four sisters, Lillian Morgan, Leona Bone, Luna Lott and Laura Armstrong, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bobby and Brenda Bone and Gary Bone of Charleston; one brother, Woodrow Glass of Sikeston; one sister, Patty Bone of Charleston; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon Tuesday until time for services at 2 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Brandon Bone, Kevin Bone, Carl Bone, Steve Moore, Kendall Mungle and Josh Mungle. [5, 6]
