  Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN, USA) - July 27, 2001 Deceased Name: SHANNON D. FAULKNER SHANNON D. FAULKNER, 80, of Atoka, retired from Tipton County Board of Education and former superintendent of Tipton County Schools, died of lung disease Wednesday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Atoka, where he was a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, choir director and organist for 35 years, with burial in Salem Cemetery there. Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, a 53-year member of Tipton Masonic Lodge in Munford, a former president of Tennessee Education Association and organized and directed the first high school band in Tipton County. Mr. Faulkner, the husband of Margaret McPeake Faulkner, also leaves a daughter, Kay Burton of Cincinnati, Ohio, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
