  Helen DeWese Simonton Dec. 24, 1914 - Sept. 13, 2009 Helen DeWese Simonton, 94, of Brighton,  died at Baptist Memorial-Tipton. Mrs. Simonton taught music and was a middle and high school teacher. She was a member and played the piano for over 50 years at Brighton ARP Church. Graveside services were Sept. 16 at Salem Cemetery. Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by a daughter Kaye Simonton (Dr. Joseph W.) Black of Hilton Head, S.C.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Milton H. Simonton. Memorials may be sent to the music ministry at Brighton ARP or Cornerstone Community Church. [2]
