  Commercial Appeal, The (Memphis, TN, USA) - May 28, 2007 Deceased Name: AUNGELETTA "LETA" SIMONTON AUNGELETTA "LETA" SIMONTON, 88, died May 26, 2007 at Methodist North Hospital. Leta was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Andrew Simonton. Houston and Leta worked together at the Baptist Children's Home in Memphis for more than 25 years. Leta is survived by two daughters, Beth Cole (Dwayne) of Erie, PA, USA and Janice Green (Yancey) of Cordova. She is survived by three grandchildren, Kim Thomas of Erie, PA, USA, Kevin Cole of Washington, DC, USA and Justin Green of Memphis and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Clara Thomas. She is also survived by her sister, Sarah Porch of Brownsville and nephews and nieces. Leta enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, sewing and living her faith. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett. Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 28 with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. both at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Parkway with Dr. Danny Sinquefield officiating.
