- Helen Bonner Boyd passed peacefully at home Aug. 25, 2017 following a very brief illness of cancer. Helen was the sixth of six children born to Hayes and Martha Bonner Aug. 14, 1933 on North Beaton Street in Corsicana. She graduated from Corsicana High School in 1950 and Navarro Junior College in 1952. She met the love of her life, Robert L. Boyd, at the water cooler in the Navarro County Courthouse. They were married on June 25, 1955 and were blessed with three children Mack and twins - Jane and Jean.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Boyd, her parents, brother Andrew Bonner, and sisters Betty Sue Gardner, Jane Fluker, Annie George Hughes and Ellen Womack.
She is survived by son Mack Boyd and daughter-in-law Molly Boyd of Ennis; daughter Jane Williams and son-in-law Jerry Williams of Waxahachie; and daughter Jean Bonds and son-in-law Bobby Bonds of Dallas. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Kaitlin Williams of Austin; Sara Williams of Beverly Hills, California; Lindsey Williams of Troy, Alabama; Jamie Boyd of Pullman, Washington; Rob Boyd and wife Sydnee of Midland and neighbors just like grandsons, Coyt Weaver and Teigan Weaver of Eureka. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Walker Boyd of Navasota, brother-in-law Wallis Boyd and wife Kathy Boyd of Bradenton, Flordia and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana. Interment was held at Eureka Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Boyd, Tim Boyd, John Hughes, Richard Bonner, Benny Womack, David Bonner, James Bonner, Coyt Weaver, and Teigan Weaver. Honorary pallbearers are Barney Thomas, Sammy Thomas, B.J. Coker, Albert Weaver and Westminster Presbyterian Elders.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and thankfulness to Dr. Kent Rogers and caregivers of Angels at Home for their love, devotion and care.
