- Ripley - Joyce Ann Bomar Reeves, 64, retired Dyer County High School teacher after 37 years, died Friday at West Tennessee Transitional Center in Jackson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garner Funeral Home with burial in Concord Cemetery. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators, Concord United Methodist Church administrative council, United Methodist Women's district mission team, DCEA, Tennessee Education Association and National Educators Association. Mrs. Reeves, the wife of Douglas Reeves, also leaves a stepdaughter, Mary Jones of Ripley; a stepson, Steve Reeves of Gates; two sisters, Kathryn Beaty of Bolivar and Brenda McCallie of Knoxville; a brother, Jerry Bomar of Burleson, Texas, seven stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Concord United Methodist Church or Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund in Drummonds.
