• Notes

  Was initially rejected because of his age and then enlisted in Company A of 6th South Carolina Reserves where he was a captain. The 6th SC Reserves only served for 90 days in 1862 - 1863. However, Robert Watson Boyd continued and was killed at the Battle of the Crater, an engagement in the Siege of Petersburg, VA, USA, on 30 July 1864.
