Jene Lavery Martin, 77, of Norman died Monday December 27, 2004 at Norman Regional Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday December 30, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Ed Menasco officiating with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City. A vigil service will be held at 7PM Wednesday December 29, 2004 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Guardian-Norman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jene was born April 24, 1927 in San Angelo, Texas to Richard David and Flora Mattie (Messer) Lavery. She graduated from Classen High School. She married Clarence Lee Martin in 1950 in Dallas, Texas. They raised three children together. Jene was a real estate agent for many years in Norman and received the Norman Realtor of the Year. She loved her children and grandchildren, sewing and shopping. Jene is survived by her daughter Stacey Bridget Martin of Norman; her son Christian Lavery Martin and his wife Tracy of Oklahoma City; her daughter Sean Martin Danaher of Norman; her grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Danaher of Chicago, John Thomas Danaher of Norman; Christian Langford Martin and Stuart Lee McIlwaine Martin both of Oklahoma City; her sister Elizabeth Ann East of Blacksburg, Virginia; her special caretaker Virginia Scott; and her beloved dog Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence and her sister Mary Mann.
