Mr. Edwin Allan Knight, 75, of Rockdale, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 27, 1936, in Streetman to Erlene and Allan Knight. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale and a member of Winkler Masonic Lodge #826. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Knight; sons, James Allan Knight, and Carl Glenn Knight and wife Sandra; daughter, Deborah Knight Curry; grandchildren, Misti Dawn Bush, James Allan Knight Jr., Austin Glenn Knight, Sarah Jane Knight, and Heather Knight; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Shelton, Deanah Bush, and Railey Edwin Bush; brothers, Richard C. Knight and wife Ruthie, and Jimmy Knight and wife Charm; she is also survived by a sister, Sarah Jane Knight.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at Birdston Cemetery in Streetman with Dr. Elton McCann officiating.
Pallbearers were Richard Knight, Terry Knight, Kelly Knight, Charles Knight, Bud Minze and Benny Pillans.
The family requests that memorials be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church at 1401 Colorado Ave., Rockdale, TX 76567; Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at S. Wilcox St., Rockdale, TX 76567; or Winkler Masonic Lodge #826, Winkler, TX.
