Text | Dear Tom, I just found your website today and was thrilled. Seems that we are related so to say by several generations removed. My family goes back to your origins but separates with: Alexander Boyd and Elizabeth “Betsy” Allen, son William married Jeanette Miller, who had a son named James Charles, who had a daughter named Margaret Josephine Boyd. Margaret married William Henry Cherry in 1894, Drew County, Arkansas. This couple had eight children starting with: Emmitt Kenith Cherry, Vera Margie Cherry, J. Eddie Cherry, William Cherry, Luther Burton Cherry, Roy J. Cherry, Jessie Horace Cherry, and Beatrice Cherry. Emmett Kenith (Kennith) Cherry married Nannie Forest Brown. This couple had one child Gertrude Alien Cherry. She was my mother. The one thing that I find that stands out in this family, they married cousins quite often. Kennith and Nannie were 3rd cousins. Nannies mother was a Boyd. Her name was Martha Erwin Body, daughter of Robert W. Boyd and Mary Jane Erwin. This Robert W. Boyd was born in 1845 and his parent were Robert Boyd and Elizabeth J. Blain. My family is very confusing to say the least. Still looking for information on Mary Jane Erwin and on William L. Brown in the Cornersville area of Arkansas. Look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Betty Guthrie | |
